The Tactic of Shooting Protesters and Blaming the Government Was Unsuccessfully Tried in Venezuela Before it was Successfully Used in Ukraine

Christopher Simpson, author of The Science of Coercion, holds up a T-shirt to demon-
strate a point about how spy agencies and politicians use the "plausible denial" tactic.

Black Operations"

When Hugo Chavez was president of Venezuela, anti-Chavez demonstrations broke out and some of the "protesters" were shot and killed. This was used by right-wing elements of the military as an excuse to overthrow Chavez in a coup that was immediately backed by the Bush Administration. It was subsequently discovered that the protesters were shot not by government forces but by elements of the right-wing opposition. Massive demonstrations by the pro-Chavez populace forced the military to free Chavez and he returned to power.  Today, the same right-wing forces that overthrew Chavez are trying to overthrow the elected government of his successor with another fake protest movement. The "shoot-protesters-and-overthrow-the-government" tactic was recently used successfully in  Ukraine.

Top, Left to Right: President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez; anti-Chavez protesters "shot by government forces"; coup leaders denounce Chavez and announce his overthrow. Bottom, Left to Right: CNN reporter explains that coup leaders said they would overthrow Chavez's government after protesters are shot - but they said they would do this before the protesters were actually shot (later it was discovered that protesters were shot not by Hugo Chavez's government but by leaders of the anti-Chavez protests and the coup fails); protesters in Ukraine are "shot by government forces"; Ukraine government is overthrown in a coup and the new leadership is dominated by neo-Nazis. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt candidly “strategize” on how to effect a political overthrow in Ukraine.

To date, America's mainstream media has demonstrated very little interest in following up on the "Shoot-the-Protesters" operation conducted by neo-Nazi elements associated with Ukraine's coup leaders. CNN currently has a full television crew in Ukraine, but their team of investigators and reporters—led by Anderson Cooper—have been virtually silent on the opposition's "Shoot-the-Protesters" operation which led to the successful overthrow of Ukraine's democratically elected government and precipitated Russia's occupation of Crimea.
