A terrorism commentator who sparked outrage on Fox News after claiming Birmingham is 'a totally Muslim city and a no-go area for non-Muslims' has apologised.
Steve Emerson, described as a terrorism analyst, also told Fox News that parts of London have a Muslim police force who 'attack people if they don't dress according to religious rules'.
He told the American network: "In Britain, it’s not just no go zones, there are actually cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim, where non-Muslims simply don’t go in."
Speaking to host Jeanine Pirro, he continued: "And parts of London, there are actually Muslim religious police that actually beat and actually wound seriously anyone who doesn't dress according to Muslim, religious Muslim attire.”
But, as reported by the BBC, he has now apologised and offered to make a donation to Birmingham Children's Hospital.
He said: "I have clearly made a terrible error for which I am deeply sorry. My comments about Birmingham were totally in error."
